Compte rendu 1er mois

 

Bonjour à tous ! Un mois après le début de mon aventure il est temps de faire le point. Je suis ravie de vous annoncer que j’ai atteint la somme minimale à récolter pour soutenir le programme ! Je suis en bonne voie, je l’espère, de doubler la mise ! A ce jour, j’ai récolté £1162, soit 145% de la somme minimale. Merci à tous ceux d’entre vous qui ont participé en faisant un don ou en communicant sur mon projet. Merci tout particulièrement à Spot Hit (http://www.spot-hit.fr/)  sans qui mon mini site mobile n’aurait pas vu le jour et à FV Perspectives dont l’aide a été précieuse en termes de networking (http://www.fvperspectives.com/) ainsi qu’à ma famille qui n’a épargné aucun effort pour que mon projet se réalise.

 

Depuis Mars, je me suis consacrée à la préparation de la mission :

  • programmer les différents vaccins : rage, thyphoïde, hépatite A et B

  • acheter une partie de l'équipement : sac de couchage, matelas, chaussures de marche, sac à dos

 

Ma première phase de formation aura lieu du 1er au 3 Mai en périphérie de Londres. Nous allons passer ces quelques jours dans un camp scout, ce qui me permettra de tester mon matériel de camping… Le but de cette première formation est d’échanger sur le développement international, d’avoir une certaine compréhension du contexte économique, environnemental et culturel du Nicaragua, d’appréhender les conditions de vie dans la communauté, et d’être briefer sur la sécurité et l’attitude à adopter en tant que bénévole. Je vous donnerai de plus amples informations sur le déroulement de cette session au retour ce celle-ci.

1st month update

Hello! My Raleigh journey has started since a month so it is time to give you some update.

 

I am thrilled to announce that I have reached my fundraising target and am on track, hopefully, to double it! Up to now I have raised £1162, namely 145% of my original target. Thank you to each one of you that has made a donation or spread the word about my project. Thanks to Spot Hit (http://www.spot-hit.fr/) who made my mobile website, to FV Perspectives (http://www.fvperspectives.com/) whose help was essential to network and thanks as well to my family who has spared no effort to make this project come true!

 

Since March, I have actively gotten ready for my mission in Nicaragua. All my vaccinations are programmed: rabies, typhoid, HepA/B. I have also bought most of the equipment I will be needing once abroad: sleeping bag, mat, working boots, rucksack… Hence the project is getting more real.

My first training session is from the 1st to 3rd of May in London suburb. We will be staying in a scout camp, which will give me the opportunity to test my camping equipment. The aim of this first session is to explore the topic of international development, to increase our appreciation of the cultural, environmental and economic context within which our placement will take place, to gain an understanding of life on placement, and to be briefed on safety, security and personal conduct. I will tell you more after the week-end.
